I have had my eye on this brand for a few years after I first saw it in Liberty of London. It is a brand founded by Linda Rodin, who in her sixties today is the model of elegance. “There is Beauty in Simplicity,” is the principle Linda was raised on. Despite access to ultra-exclusive skincare lines, Rodin became disillusioned with their anti-aging claims and complicated regimens.
“What I longed for was something far simpler—products for the here-and-now, that caress the skin noticeably and without any delay. Nothing out there did quite that.” So she did exactly that. She experimented with essential oils for two years. She put the finishing touches on her dream elixir, the original RODIN Olio Lusso face oil, in 2007. The name translates to luxury oil. The make-up artist and models loved it and it soon became a cult product. The Rodin collection has grown with each new item containing a similar, near-magical blend of essential oils.
I was extremely fortunate to be given a lipsticks and matching lip pencil to use. The colour Red Hedy is in honour of Hedy Lamar whom Rosin admired for her double career as a film star and inventor of technology, beauty and brains.
The best way to apply a lip colour is to draw and colour the lips in with the pencil and go over it with the lipstick. This prolongs the lipstick without feathering. The luxury lip pencil is enriched with jasmine and neroli oils and left my lips feeling hydrated and supple. The lipstick felt luxurious and was different in texture to many of my other lipsticks. This lipstick has amazing staying power, it lasted all day through eating and drinking and I got complimented on it several times. The packing is also a reflection of the brand’s philosophy of simplicity and it is clearly elegant in its design. Both the lip pencil at £25 and the lipstick at £28.00 can be purchased at Liberty London.
This is a wonderfully luxurious brand and well worth the investment. Have you tried this brand before? Which products have you tried? What did you think? I will definitely be purchasing other products from the brand and the infamous RODIN olio lusso oil is next on my list!
