Vibrant with Vatika Hair Care

Vatika Hair Care
I have been familiar with this brand since my childhood as it was a popular product in our home. We mainly used the oil as that’s what the brand was known for. It is part of the Dabur family and I remember we also used the Dabur Amla oil. We loved this brand as this was what our grandmothers and mothers used in India and what we were familiar with. This combined with the fact that it was based on natural Ayurvedic treatments and herbs made it a must have product in most Indian households.Vatika’s philosophy is the importance of nature and harnessing its amazing powers to keep our hair looking its best. This is one of the most popular hair care brands in India and there’s a reason why. You can read more about the brand here.

“The solutions to these and the other hair problems have always existed in the nature that surrounds us and for centuries Indian women have made use of the ingredients available in the natural world for the benefit of their hair which has long been admired as a symbol of beauty for its length, fullness and shine.”

I am glad to see that now there is a variety of products from this brand widely available here. I have been using the following two products from the range:

Black Seed Enriched Hair Oil
I particularly wanted to try this as it contains essential fatty acids to promote hair growth and prevent hair thinning and as some of you may know that my hair has thinned out to 1/4 of what it was a few years ago. I would apply a medium amount to my hair, massaging it in and leaving it for a couple of hours before washing. The oil is a deep plum colour and smells pleasantly fruity. My hair felt very silky after washing and not as dry as it normally does. I strongly believe it’s important to keep the oil on your hair for as long as you can. Buy now

Black Seed Complete Hair Care Shampoo
This is a very nourishing shampoo and left my hair feeling fresh and clean. The shampoo is a metallic silver in colour and is very lightly fragranced. It lathers up quickly but remember shampoo doesn’t need to lather to work, it’s just what we are used to using. Buy now

There’s a lot to be said for Ayurvedic and Indian remedies, there’s lot of knowledge behind the ingredients and their properties of these Indian products which I think we often underestimate. You only have to look at the natural beauty and hair of the women of the subcontinents then you will see why there’s a lot to be learnt. I remember some time back there was a shift in attitudes by many, who thought western medicine and beauty products were superior and now I believe the west is harnessing knowledge, ingredients and techniques from the east more than ever.

I thought these products were fabulous and highly recommend trying them. Have you tried the Vatika hair care range? What did you think? Do you leave oil on your hair, has it made a difference?
